Cleaning/Blasting

Hi lads, on the subject of cleaning and detailling, my eldest lad rebuilds a lot of motorcycles in his spare time - dirtbikes as it happens. I'm a car guy myself and I have a fair sized collection ranging from racers to road sportsters and most of the inbetween. That's the background, the point of my post is coming -

Between me and the young lad, we seem to spend an awful lot of time cleaning and degreasing engine parts, various degraded metal bits and shiny bits that have gone un-shiny. Upshot is, I decided a blast cabinet would be very handy for cleaning components. Various searches threw up another option - Vapour blasting.

Vapour blasting cleans off surface corrosion/dirt/old paint etc, but does not degrade the actual metal being cleaned. Does a lovely job too, as it happens. So, I made enquiries as to what's needed, and it's not exactly budget equipment. Fair dear as it happens. But, for the results possible, I think it is a worthwhile road to go down.

Question is, have any of you used this process for engine/car parts before? Were you pleased? Is it somthing ye'd reccommend? Is it somthing you yourself would consider using(the machines industrial sized, it just is, so it will have to do more than just my own work).

What's your take on this process? Thanks, Stav.
