My NCT is due in January I cancelled my test in Jan as I wasnt ready and pushed it out for March. I see there are no available Dublin NCT dates until mid March what if my test date comes up before mid March? Do I have to cancel test a second time or can I give the tester a confirmation print out of the NCT due date which would be after the test would it suffice. I tried to book before Christmas but were booked out too. Can I get myself on a cancellation list for Dublin NCT centres? Doubt I will get one now in Jan but Feb would be great

You can to contact the nct and ask for their help getting an earlier car test. You may have to sit and wait at the nct centre for someone not to show up.
You can also not accept a driving test date before your nct. Which is probably easier. You might not even get a driving test date until late March.
Either way you need your nct & an appointment slip would mean nothing to the driving tester.

Thanks guys was worried as I cant use an alternative car I have a new instructor since last week and would prefer the car I'm used to for the test Jan seems to be a busy month for NCT's Just thought on the off chance tester would accept NCT date confirmation but was chancing my arm
I know everything has to be above board re the car before sitting the test. Will give them a ring tomorrow and explain the situation. I have already cancelled a driving test so dont want to be cancelling it a second time cos of this.

If you can't get an early NCT then contact driver testing and tell them you can't take atest before NCT test date so as you don't have to cancel again
