    Hi.

I went to my dentist the other due to some sensitivity and got told I have two impacted wisdom teeth that need removal, he sent of a letter to Cork about getting them removed and gave me a prescription for painkillers and antibiotics.

He put the fear of God into me if im honest.

Now at the moment Im not in a lot pain other than when the top teeth meet with the bottom, if they touch at a certain angle/way i get a bit of pain from it, it goes and comes and isn't to bad and its only on one side.

I got a second opinion and got told less of a horror story but I also got told that I may be waiting for up to two years to get them out if I go public...this seems way to long to me and I was wondering how fast they could be done and how much would it cost if I was willing to pay for private?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

Your best bet might be to ask your dentist to recommend some dental practices to go to for the wisdom teeth extraction. Then get basic quotes from each.
Some dentists also have these prices listed online or printed in their reception, so easy to get without booking a consultation. I'd imagine the final price would only be confirmed by the dentist after they have had a look at your teeth etc.

    Good luck with it.

I think you might have cost covered by health insurance. It can be done by way of a day surgery with bit of anaesthetic. I would go ahead now rather than wait. I think they can be sure enough from xrays/experience that they need to come out at some stage and more trouble further down the road if left.
