I bought one if those years ago for £25 in the UK. Twould want to be a pretty tiny angle grinder to be fair.

    150w

It'll obviously be perfect for charging a laptop.

They can really get hot even charging a laptop over time, be careful of that.
I wouldn't expect it to run a grinder, I presume they are 1.5-2kw?

It'll trip straight away or worse, destroy your car!

You'd want 1 kW at a minimum to run a 4.5" grinder. I bought one on eBay (this one) to run a B&Q cheapie grinder, and it has done on the couple of ocassions I tried. It started and ran a Bosch 650 W also. I made up cables to go straight onto the battery from an old set of jump cables. I wouldn't recommend more than a couple of minutes of grinding at a time, it's pulling the equivalent power of about 18 headlight bulbs at 750 W! The thing will get quite warm after a minute or two.

If it was me I'd have a cheapie inverter for cutting clamps scrap metal, and a decent reliable low powered inverter for charging a laptop or whatever. 150 W would be fine for everyday stuff, and you've more chance of getting a quiet, efficient and cool-running inverter. The Halfords one is by Ring, a fairly reputable name for auto stuff so it'll fit the bill fine for a low power option. Without spending mad money you won't get an inverter that does both, and any inverter that has enough juice for a grinder will require battery clamps, a bit impractical for laptop charging :D
