Ive just bought a 2005 ford fiesta hatchback 1.25 lx. There are two switches/buttons next to the cigarette lighter on the centre console and i cant seem to find out what they're for, unfortunately i didn't get a vehicle hand book with the car. They are like two small round switches, does anyone know what there for ? Thanks

Do they look like this? Have you turned them on?

Does the car have an alarm? Or parking sensors?

since when? could understand it but know of someone driving an ex garda car, my understanding is there could be other electrical issues related to when the radios, lights are just cut out? not to mention the general use.

Any chance of glowing lights from underneath when one is on? :P And any chance that there was a subwoofer in the boot at any point? Are there any loose wires or audio connectors floating around back there?

Yerp. my guess is fairy lights of some description.

Switches probably don't do anything anymore.

Nothing happens when the switches are on, i haven't got the code for the radio so it could be something to do with that, ive made an appointment for the ford garage to put the code in.

Thanks for all the help! :D

Surely a Garda car wouldn't be a 3 door. How do they get the criminals in, fold the front seats and in they hop? :D

I've seen quite a few of them. Not all cars are used to transport the criminals.
They use cars you wouldn't even consider a Garda car. Some of them unmarked and over 10 years old;)
