    Try eirtyres and camskill

Camskill do Hankook Ventus's for €155 each delivered, add €15 for fitting and you're at €170 a corner.

Bridgestone Potenzas would be €180 each, €195-ish fitted.

Eirtyres would do Pirelli Scorpions for €170 each, so €185 ish fitted

Oponeo are cheaper than both these. Excellent service.

Also that Polish crowd Openeo, got my last set of Michelin's from them, worked out cheaper than the ex-vat trade price here, and the manufacture dates were as fresh as I could hope for.

TopGear.co.uk were good for larger cheap Toyo Proxies, very fast delivery too.

Another crowd called Pneus (Portugese name, no idea where they're based) had good prices too.

For fitting I'd normally use Hendersons down in the marina (assuming your username is the same as your location) as they've no issue with you sourcing and supplying your own tyres.

thanks for the replies .im currently running continentals that came with the car VERY EXPENSIVE.IF i but the tyre online how much would it cost to get it fitted and tracking done at the recommended fitting garage from eire tyres

    thanks

They're a very good tyre, they're marketed as a rain tyre. The fact that they have rim protection is a bonus too.
They're not a premium brand (they're owned by Continental) as such, but they have an excellent wet performance rating

would i get good millage out of them .dont want to be replacing them again anytime soon:).is tracking included in the fitting

Tracking is always extra, balancing is included in fitting.
They wouldn't be a particularly fast wearing tyre
    Vredistein Ultrac Sessenta :)

These are highly regarded alright, sidewalls don't seem to hold up too well though.

Find a local fitter on the site and get a price on fitting, tracking etc.

Hankooks are good all round tyre.
My man here in Fermoy is pretty unbeatable on prices inc. fitting for Hankook and Toyo.

    Give him a ring,

Try Tallaght tyres in Old Bawn, found them decent enough but it depends on brand.

Dad had Uniroyals fitted to his car, couldn't fault them. Great grip in the rain, they wear well too. Highly recommended OP if you find one at a price that suits your budget!

Also I think Uniroyal are owned by Michelin not Continental. So they come from good stock ;)

Oddly, Uniroyals European operation is owned by Continental and its North American arm is owned by Michelin.

You seem fixated on tracking. Why? If there is no evidence of uneven tyre wear and you haven't kerbed the wheels or driven into multiple pot-holes, there should be no need for "tracking" to be done. Are you sure you don't mean "balancing"?

I don't mean to sound insulting or condescending, but your posts suggest you are not a wheel / tyre expert.

If i was spending €200 a corner on tyres, I'd get it tracked too.
    I'm not so I don't.

"Why spend extra money on 'tracking' if there is no evidence of uneven tyre-wear?" is my question for the OP. In the absence of uneven tyre-wear, some tyre-fitters may take the money for doing nothing IME or introduce uneven tyre wear by doing a poor job.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,522 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

I'd look at it by the numbers, €800 on 4 tyres, €40 or so on tracking
    Just incase.
    I see your point though.

Got a set of vredestein and they are the best tyre ive ever used. The car feels like a new car and after about 15k they still look new. Will definitely get them again. They have really deep threads compare to other brands. Im no tyre expert but i assume this is better for rain and wear. They are still really black aswell. Highly recommend them.

Well, that's a new one on me for quantifying tyre quality...

I would say its a good quality to have in a tyre that they dont go brown after a while. Would much prefer they stay shiny black. No?

Is that Brown not just dirt/brake dust?

My local supplier listed above does free tracking when you buy 4 tyres from him.

Because preventative maintenance will always save you money in the long run.

can anyone tell me whats the difference between these 2 tyres besides the price
    Uniroyal RainSport 2 SUV 235/50 R18 97V with kerbing rib - eiretyres.com
    RainSport 3 SUV

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,522 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

Rainsport came out 10 years ago, Rainsport 3 is only out 6 months.

3 is quieter and grippier in the dry.

Even take a look at the tread pattern

The Rainsport 3, you'd assume are a newer version :)

SUV means its intended to be fitted to an SUV or 4x4. It's a size intended for SUVs, and they've been intentionally manufactured with this in mind.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,522 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

The SUVs they were designed for (tiguan etc) aren't exactly landrovers, as they don't offer a non SUV branded alternative in the same sizes I'd guess its just marketing.

so i could put them on my astra gtc ???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 972 ✭✭✭Digital Society

Is that Brown not just dirt/brake dust?

Dirt is also brown but thats not what im on about. Hard to explain what i mean.

I just never have to clean them or whatever. Not a huge deal to some people but it gives a good finish to the car alloys.

Aswell as that Vredestein seem to last forever. Theres still more thread on them than ive seen on some brand new tyres.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,191 ✭✭✭NewApproach

I just fitted 4 Vredestein Ultrac Vorti (successor to the highly popular Sessanta range) on my E90 330d. The grip is unbelievable, zero wheelspin in the dry and very minor only in first in the wet. 4 tyres were €570 plus €40 fitting.

I'd call that normal or to be expected rather than unbelievable :D

Well bear in mind my car has c.600Nm torque and used to swing its arse out going around roundabouts with the old runflats in place with next to no assistance from yours truly! I'm just loving these new tyres, forgive me if I get a bit carried away!
