"Further Skills" Phrasing on CV

I'm doing up a CV and am trying to create a section for other skills I have that are not implicit of my work history and education. I'm stuck on the phrasing of the title for this section. I had tried just giving it the title "Skills", and while that works for say 'Python Programming', it doesn't really gel with 'Linux-based systems', for example.

I realise how pedantic this is being, but does anyone know if there is a catch-all name for such a section. Thanks in advance!

People don't normally have a section like this in their CV.

If I understand correctly, you are trying to show the employer you (for fun, or whatever) read a Python programming book or something like that?

I don't think there is anything wrong with using "Further Skills" as a heading. Can't see it doing any harm any way but I'm no expert on CV's.

I think it depends on what you are applying for, are you tailoring it to a specific job, or is this just a CV with everything on it.

If these skills are relevant to the position you are applying for, perhaps 'Relevant Skills'. If they are just as you say, 'Further Skills', ie: not relevant, then probably leave it out completely.

I thought most CV's had a section which profiles skills and experience, basically summarizing why you would be suitable for the role without having to read every detail of your work history and education, but I may be wrong.

How many pages is your CV? Have you space to include more details?

Thanks for the replies so far. Just a bit of background, I'm currently a first year college student looking for summer work at a technology company, so I'm not applying for a specific position, but rather I am trying to get work in a company that is somewhat related to my area of study.

My CV is 2 pages long. I've put emphasis on my work history and education to date, but because I went straight from secondary school to 3rd level that's limited to weekend and summer jobs I've had.

Use your cover letter for this. Sell your interest in IT, technical knowledge and level of maturity.
