Should Fissure sealings be uncomfortable?

I got 8 teeth sealed with fissure sealant today and I'm finding them uncomfortable. The dentist said they would feel 'a little raised' and should flatten out.

I'm just wondering how long will they take to flatten out. They feel very strange when I'm eating and I feel like they are affecting my 'bite'.

Should they have been filed down like fillings are as to not affect the bite?

The bite usually settles within 2 weeks.

Thanks for letting me know. I'm finding it really distracting and my jaws are getting sore because I find I'm kind of keeping my top and bottom from closing because it's a horrible sensation that the top set doesn't sit into the bottom set.

I presume it's just from chewing that kind of flattens them. I wish I had needed a filling instead at least my mouth would have felt normal afterwards the anesthetic wore off.

Sealants are pretty soft, and the bite often feels spongey afterwards. It shouldnt interfere much as it should be confined to non contacting areas of the teeth.

Thanks again. Just wondering do you know if they should have checked my bite before I left or do they ever file them if they don't feel right.

Only that I said to them on the way out that they felt a bit strange they wouldn't have said anything. It was like in the chair, do the job and out of the chair with little or no explanation of the procedure or what to expect afterwards etc.
