Anyone know a place to get the fully magnetic L plates for a reasonable price? I was getting them for €7 from the UK motoring school site but it came to €42 with shipping.

I got some in Woodies a few years ago, and they are still on listed their website at €2.29. I'm sure there's plenty of other shops around too

Can I ask was the entire back of the plate magnetic or was there a thin strip at the top and one at the bottom?

The ones with the strips usually fly off when going anything over 60kph in my own experience and I don't want window ones as they obstruct my view.

    That's the difference.

So long as they're stuck in the right place, the view obstruction is minimal. You could also stick the one on the back to to the paint instead of the window which is exactly what you'd be doing with magnetic ones anyway.

I had ones that were fully magnetic on one of the cars I was driving, you can get them in a lot of filling stations cheap enough, and ditto what was said about Woodies. I would imagine you would have no problem getting them in Halfords as well, if you're near one.

Make sure to take them off when parked. My friend has had two sets nicked now! People will take anything now.

I got ones in my local Super Valu. They had the strip top and bottom and stayed on no bother. I have a 3 door Toyota Yaris so I'm guessing the shape of the car helped a lot.

I got a sticky one that just sticks to the window and can peel off easily. I started with the magnetic and would put them onto the car, hit 80 kmh and off they go. You can get the sticky ones in any garage.
