    Hello there,

I'm wondering if anyone knows the best kind of places to go for a good comedy scene in Dublin?
I know other cities (say New York for example) tend to have a culture of improv/sketch/standup in particular areas, even if you're not a performer. While I realise Dublin is different culturally, and much smaller, I'm curious if anyone knows places with really good vibes to meet people with common interest and perhaps even potential collaborators for projects?

Worth a shot- people on here are always so helpful!
Thanks in advance and excuse my rambling post!

Hit the comedy clubs in the city centre - Ha'Penny Inn (Sun-Thurs), International Bar (Every night)

You'll find comedians hanging around. Best way to meet them is to start performing yourself although it can take a while before you start becoming noticed and remembered.

If improv is your thing I run the "Love! Improv" forum on facebook. Performers network and post show details too. We also have a monthly open jam too

Just putting this here not to sure where to put it. Suppose last thing we need is another comedy club. But there you thing there a need for new acts/new material night? I know the axe is there, but can be hard get slot on and when you do you feel you want to do well (Of course) and you never know who's watching. What story in other countries for night like this? and do you think this could work?

New comedy nights open all the time around Dublin. It's very very difficult to keep them going is the problem. It takes a lot of work.

I think the problem with a new act night is that it's hard to build and maintain an audience for it. If the acts are all new the standard won't be as high as other nights and it's hard to build a reputation on patchy standards - even the Axe will rarely run a night of completely new acts.
