BMW 1 series Seatbelt

Any help guys? Wife has a BMW 1 series, 2005, 5dr. The middle pax seatbelt is stuck and wont extend or retract, was wondering if anyone knows an easy fix without going to a garage, i've tried unclipping the seat and bringing it forward and slamming it closed but it just doesnt seem to want to release. Thanks in advance
