Family holiday on Aran Islands ??

We were planning on spending two weeks in Clare for holidays this year, were we could be close to the beach and do a the usual touristy things in the area, including a visit to the Aran Islands. I am now pondering on one week on the Aran Islands and one week in Clare. I know Hubby and I would love it, but the kids (aged 11, 8, 7 & 4) I'm not so sure. We are an active family and plan on taking our bikes with us, all kids have wet suits so if the weather is bad they can still swim. I am thinking about Inis Oirr, but as it is only 3k x 3k I'm wondering if would be too small for us. I know we could do day trips to the other islands which would pass one or two days, and of course it the weather is good, well we have nothing to worry about......

Have any of you spent a week on either 3 islands and recommend one over the other. I was speaking to the man who runs the ferry to the islands and he said most Irish families go to Inis Oirr as there is more to do there, new playground, football pitch/astro turf, shipwreck, lighthouse, and the other tourists go to Inis Mhor.

Would love to hear your experiences/suggestions.

Done Inish Morr when I was about 13/14 with my mother, sister, mothers friend and her son.

Loved it but I was quite content with sitting on a beach or pier fishing for 3 hours straight.

However, saying that my main memory of it was flying there from whatever tiny airport we took off from and flying in low over the island.

Went to Innis Oirr last year as a day trip and tbh it's pretty barren, very little to do by the looks of it and we pretty much walked around most of the island within the couple of hours we were there. Nice to visit for a few hours but a week would be total overkill imo.
