firebird stove anyone?

    My plumber recommends I get the firebird stove made in cork. Does anyone have one? I read that they are very good. the only problem is I dont have a fireplace as was planning on having a stove just but firebirds are only designed as inset stoves. so if I get one ill have to build some kind of a fireplace around it for purely aesthetics.
    is there an alternative stove that is stand alone that is as good? The stove and a large solar water heater will be my sole methods of heating my home so ive gotta get a great stove...thanks 8n advance

    I was wondering did you get the firebird stove? My plumber has also recommended it to me.
    They don't seem to on sale in the usual stove shops.Many thanks.
