Ordered broadband & phone late Dec, Hub arrived really quickly with set up date early Jan. Didn't happen for another week. Phone was cut off on this date. Almost 2 weeks after initial date provided still no broadband & no phone - not happy 😡

Although its a Sky query, because it relates solely to the broadband and no other aspect, I think Broadband would be a better place for it

    Latest effort from Sky:
Sky offers great value, reliable Broadband and Talk services and the new Sky Switch Squad makes moving to Sky Broadband even easier.

You'll only be without your broadband for a matter of minutes
We'll make sure you get the fastest speeds your line can manage
We'll make sure you keep your own number
    You'll get a 30-day satisfaction guarantee
We'll keep tabs on your order and keep you updated

Wonder if they can live up to this? Looks like in this case they fell at the first hurdle!

Activation date on box with modem said 15th

Phone is working but no broadband yet

I signed up to Sky on 30th October, 2013, broadband went live on 12th Nov, Sky Talk was activated on 15th Nov. Was with Homevision for Broadband and phone up to that. Homevision were taken over by Pure Telecom on 1st of November, 2013 but I decided to go to sky instead.

Confirmed when ordering sky broadband that they would be dealing with my previous providers to ensure a seamless transfer and was assured that sky would contact my existing provider and all would be fine. Got a bill in from Pure Telecom whom I didn't sign up with saying they have been providing me with broadband since 1st of November (while I was with sky?). Contacted Pure telecom twice so far about this since last week and am still waiting for a call back from one of their managers to sort it out.

Just be very careful if going with Sky that they make good on their commitment to handle the switch including contacting your current provider. Haven't contacted Sky yet myself as I don't want to complicate things with two telcos, hoping Pure Telecom get off their arse and sort it out first.

I think so, but I'm on the trail so I'm still paying €10 a month for broadband and 7.50 for Sky talk.

Best thing to do is visit these website and see what's available:

My 12 months trial is just up & Sky.
I was on Broadband & Talk anytime.
I will now be charged line rental & my bill this month is nearly €50 so a change is in the offing because that is dearer than even Eircom.
I've sent them an e mail telling them I'm going to make changes as I'm not very happy with the big increase.
We'll see if they come up with anything .
