Upload speeds would have to be limited, companies would just try to use any decent upload to try hosting their sites/servers on it.

Fair enough but are we seeing the limit? No other package breaks 10mb up.

I see UPC Poland and Hungary has "up to 20mb" upload. The "up to" makes me think their technology isn't capable of delivering upload anything close to fiber or even VDSL.

Eircom's upload speed might actually give them an edge over UPC.

Their technology is capable of delivering 50mbit upload if they wanted to, however there would be capacity issues in some areas.

They'll have to reconfigure to provide more upstream when they go for DOCSIS3.1 or they'll fail to compete with vectored VDSL.

Great to see someone offering that kind of speed. But if they don't provide a decent upload, I don't see much benefit from having that much download speed right now.

More and more businesses are relying on cloud based services, and upload is increasingly important. Hosting websites / mailservers internally for most smb's doesn't make sense, as there are a great number of costs and risks associated with that, and hosting keeps getting cheaper.

Having a much proportionate download/upload ratio (5/1 or even 10/1) would be much better than the existing ratio for the higher speeds.

I'm all up for improvements, as it will hopefully keep other provider on their toes, but I'd also like to see a more realistic approach to other issues rather than pure speed.
