Moving to Malahide, Primary School advice needed

    Hi,
We are in the process of moving to Malahide. We are looking for primary school places for our two boys (starting from September 2014). They are currently in senior infants and 2nd class in North County Dublin. Oliver Plunkett's school (the closest school to us) will have absolutely no 3rd class places available in September 2014. There is also only a small chance that there will be a 1st class place available in September.

Our only hope will therefore be either Pope John Paul II school or St. Andrew's primary school. While we are awaiting word from these schools, we fear that we may be offered no places at all. Is it possible that all three schools will refuse our applications? Or are we entitled to a placing in any of them given that we are resident in Malahide?

Any assistance would be much appreciated! Thank you.

If the schools do not have a place to give you then you have no entitlement to one unfortunately.
You might have to widen your school search area but hopefully they find room for you.
