Holiday Entitlement

    Hi Folks, so am leaving my job in July to emigrate,i have already taken one weeks hols and i have 2 weeks booked for April, as our holiday year runs from Oct to Oct could anyone clarify for me if i am still entitled to take the full 4 weeks or even direct me to a site where i can read up on it please, cheers.

    Holidays are worked out on a pro rata basis, you will have worked nine months of your year if you leave at the end of July so will be entitled to take three quarters of your contracted annual holiday leave, three weeks.

    I agree with the above (pro rata etc). You may be allowed to take part of the two weeks as unpaid leave if you have to take them.

    Thanks Coffee, if im understanding the other comment, as i have 1 week taken already i still get to take my 2 weeks in April but thats it then?

    OP you are entitled to a minimum 15 days holidays up to the end of July assuming you work full time and have accrued the necessary working hours. You are not necessarily entitled to take the two particular weeks you want in April as holiday leave, you are entitled to request these days off but the your employer is not required to agree to those particular days nor that length of continuous time off. You need to discuss this asap with your employer.
