i love Hoffman and i will definitely be hoping this is picked up to series (id be very surprised if it wasnt) but i would have preferred if he picked some kind of drama role rather than a comedy

Showtime has ordered to series Happyish (previously called Trending Down), which stars Philip Seymour Hoffman as Thom Payne, an ad man who is sent adrift when his ad agency is taken over. The project is described as a “blistering attack on our youth-obsessed culture and a darkly comic examination of what it means to matter. Or matter not.” Source

Seeing groups of friends in a pub/cafe with their heads buried in their phones and not talking, couples in restaurants not talking because they are too busy instagramming a picture of their food. People who place their value in how many retweets, views or likes they have on something.

Good start to this show. Coogan is great in the part. Hoffman would have been wonderful.
