    "The National Archives have also launched Operation War Diary, a project between The National Archives, Imperial War Museums and Zooniverse. Volunteers who sign up for the project will be assigned a section of a unit war diary and asked to tag key information including pages, such as names, places and events.

    Luke Smith, digital leader of the First World War Centenary Programme at the Imperial War Museum said: “This is the most ambitious project of its kind to date.

    “Together we can uncover the story of the Western front in new and extraordinary detail. By working together, we can make history.”

    There are a few Irish regiments in the initial tranche.
