Is the first year team made up of mostly sports scholarship lads or what? Would a lad who's played premier for the last couple of years get on it?

Or alternatively, are there any clubs in the area who play at a high level?

Are you in DCU now or are you coming in next year? The DCU senior side are in the All Ireland Semi Finals on February 5th. The senior team would be made up of half scholarship players and half not. If you played DDSL Premier for the past couple of years, you'd have a decent chance in playing for the senior squad, but would definitely play games for the freshers team at least.

EDIT: You still play for your senior team whilst playing for the college team too.

Next year hopefully. I don't understand your edit there? Like I can still play for my club at home too? Yeah I assumed that but I'd either need to get some training in dcu during the week (in order to still play for my club at home at weekends) or else just join a club up there.

Sorry, I interpreted that you thought you couldn't do both.

The senior side train Mondays and play games on Wednesdays or train if there is no game that week. There are plenty of teams around the area too, if you wanted to stay up at the weekends too.

Ideally id like to play for DCU and my club back at home but I don't know if i'd make it on the team. If not, I'd hopefully find a club nearby who wouldn't mind me training with them, so I can play for club back at home at weekends.
