    just a quick question lads,,dose this mixer have a built in amp that will power passive speakers,a mate tells me it dose but iv never heard of a mixer having a amp before,anyone any wiser about this

    It absolutley does not. You will need an amp and passive speakers or else no amp and powered speakers.

    thats what i was thinking ,,,any idea of how big a amp i would need to power two 400w speakers

    Far from my area of expertise but I suppose an 800 watt amp to drive them. That is a real short answer because anyone with some knowledge will prob bring up impedance and all sorts of other factors that I know nothing about. I guess an amp with much less balls will drive your speakers to some degree too but not 'fully' I guess. Hope someone else weighs in here. Some googling will def sort it.
