Over the weekend I discovered that the young bulls being selected for the maternal program were scored by folks that did not see the bulls - unless they owned one of the bulls. While we need to encourage using stats in farming selecting young bulls using only numbers appears crazy especially as reliability numbers are so low. I had planned in joining the program but did not agree with using stats blindly to select sire for the future. Interested in your views

Totally agree, local man has a CH bull, very little stars, but his calves out sell top AI & 5 star bulls.

have a very correct bull that was recently scored 8 for locomotion, which was my understanding to be very good but in his graph in on his own performance he is only at 40%. Can any one explain this as results can be very confusing. some bulls scoring 8 can be in top 10%. He was also scored along with 2 heifers but his results showed that he was scored on his own.

Apologies first, I cannot answer your question but have one of my own. How does the scoring process work. Does it cost much etc.
