Booked flights to Geneva for a long weekend ski break. Out on Wednesday March 5, back Sunday March 9. Now trying to decide where to go and there is the usual complication of looking for a short stay and not a full week. Wondering if anyone has any recommendations?

It's just me and my wife so looking for somewhere with good skiiing, decent food and easy transfer from Geneva. Night life not so important. Currently looking at a hotel in Les Gets. All feedback welcome.

Have a look at Flaine or Megeve both less than an hour from Munich Simon Butler Skiing in Megeve do short stays as do Stanford skiing

Flainenos nice reasonably priced Megeve can be pricey bit lift pass is cheap and slopes deserted

I think Les Gets is perfect for a short weekend, some decent skiing and nice little village. Had a nice meal or two at lunch there!

Chamonix and morzine / avoriaz both within an hour 15 of geneva. Should be able to get a transfer to either for 25 euro per person each way. Chamonix has been done to death on the forum so do some searches to see the pros and cons. Think I also did a trip report for morzine avoriaz in the sticky at the top of the forum page also.

Thanks a148pro. Have done Chamonix to death myself - summer and winter - so want to try somewhere else.

olaola - thanks for that. Liking what I hear about Les Gets. Did you just get the Les Gets/Morzine pass or full Porte du Soleil?

I think it was the full pass, we were staying in Morzine, only went to Avoriaz once. The Les Gets/Morzine intersection was our fave skiing of the holiday.
