Medical Card

    Hi everyone,

Looking for a bit of help. Ive tried to find the info online but I dont understand a lot of it and I was wondering if someone could help.

My fiancée and I want to move together. She is currently out of work and has a long term (for life) illness. Being unemployed and ill she got a medical card.
If she moves in with me we will be co-inhabiting and Im worried that my income is over the income limit and she will lose the card. She will be moving from Tipperary to Waterford so I dont know if thats a different health region or not.

We cannot afford to lose the card. Her meds cost around €600 a month.

Can someone tell me exactly what the cut off is for the card. I earn just under 2k a month. Salary.

    Any help would be great.

Regardless of whether a person has medical card or not , you wont have to pay €600 per month for medication.

    The maximum is €144 p/month.

There is no exact cut-off amount for medical card application , as other things are also taken into account to reduce your gross income .
