    hi guys.

im wondering if anyone has any information on DSLR cameras? i have been trying to reasearch on it, but there is so much information out there that im a bit lost! i have gone into a few electrical shops but they dont seem to know much more than me!

what i would like to know is if anyone has a suggestion on one i should buy? im a newbie to it,but it seems Nikon and cannon are brand to go for. what id like it for is landscape so i know that id need to buy a different lense for it aswell.

so really, anyone out there who can take all the hard core technical language and dumb it down to just good old english id appricate it! im not anyway high tech minded at all...windows 7 is behond me so im pretty baffoled when it comes to all this!

    really appricate the help.
    thanks

Go into a newsagent and pick up a magazine with different camera reviews.
I found them quite helpful and the terminology wasn't too bad.
    Another place was http://www.dpreview.com/camerareviews
    Explains a lot as well.

To be honest - if you can't handle windows 7, you really won't be able to handle all the features of a DSLR.
Tell us what you want to do with the camera.

It's a matter of personal choice whether you go with Nikon or Canon.

I prefer Canon and use an EOS 600D.
18 megapixels, does video as well and has a slide out tilt screen.

Lens is the important bit. Generally, with a new camera purchase you would get something like an 18-55mm lens which is fine for day to day photography.

For landscapes however, you may want a wider angle lens.
So something like a 10-22mm would allow you to get those wide shots.

Might help if you give an idea as to a budget for the initial outlay and are you willing to buy more lenses and accessories in the future . Also as stated what do you want it for, a DSLR is not always the best answer for everyone.

budget. under 700 euro? amazon seems to have great offers on different cameras. i have tried the good old digital cameras for a long time now and the quality is just not good enough for me. i want something with a more defined image, i would like to be able to zoom in and not totally loose the photo. id like to be able to edit photos and maybe print them and not just have a load of blur. i want to try and take a photo of the image i see and get it as close as possible onto paper. obviously the higher the budget the better the image, but anything has to be better than the digital crap i have been using. its really starting to irritate me! i see all these beautiful scenes that if i had a half decent camera i would pull over and take, but i dont because it would just look like distant cloud. i want to be able to try capture these. as clear as my budget allows!!!!!!!!
