    Folks,

I've a 09 Golf and just realised the indicator on my driver side wingmirror has stopped working infact when i check it some of the bulbs are glowing very faintly. I assume it is a LED light but i'm not sure. I dont think its been hit or any damage so could it be a bad bulb? (can that even happen with an LED?)

I found the part online think its OEM 5K0-949-102 but just wondering has anyone had any similar instances and how much was it to fix?

    Cheers

    Jones

On an Octavia you need to replace the whole unit - think it's about €45 from memory. I think they use a different shape mirror though to the Golf. You probably could replace the LED if you really wanted to I suppose.

I'm not even sure if it is LED's along the wingmirror of the Golfs. I originally thought none of the lights were working but some of them do glow very very faintly when i turn the indicator on.

VW dealers promise to replace fee of charge any bulbs bought from them, could be worth a try.

    2. We’ll fit bulbs and wipers free.

    Think they are all LED.

Pop off the mirror cover (look on youtube how to as it's easy to break a clip) and there should be a couple of screws holding it in with a connector on the end. eBay is your friend if you want a cheap one.
