    HI
I am paying into a private pension with Irish Life for a number of years.
I was of the impression that i was getting the tax benefit at source but now don't think i am . I have contacted them and awaiting a reply.

Has anybody here received the benefit at source or is it common practice.

If i do need to claim the tax back from Revenue how many years can i claim for.

If your premium wasn't being deducted through your payroll then you wouldn't have been getting the tax relief at source. You'd need to claim it from the Revenue Commissioners- they require a copy of a letter from the pension company (can't remember the reference) as evidence of payments. You should have got such a letter from Irish Life each year but could probably request a copy if they are not to hand.

You can go back 4 years for claims if you need to manually claim- request a review of 2010-2013 inclusive once you have those letters.
