Unused bridesmaid dress - what to do?

Long story short - I was going to be bridesmaid for a friend of mine this year, but the wedding has been cancelled (with no hope of it being rescheduled :( ).

I have a lovely full length gown (and shoes) that I was going to wear, as do the other girls. But I don't know what to do with it. My friend doesn't want the dresses back, they were slightly customised (not much, just in terms of length) so I don't think they could be returned. I don't have much call for wearing something so formal, nor would I feel comfortable wearing it, I don't think.

    Any suggestions?

Sell them on adverts or other selling site

I'd feel odd selling it and keeping the money though.

I suppose there's nothing else to do, except donate it. Could sell it and donate the money I guess, or use it to treat my friend.

Selling it and then treating her to something lovely sounds really nice! She's probably lost a fair bit on non-refundable deposits so it might be nice for her to get something back!!

Take her for a lovely dinner or a spa with the money.

are you located in Dublin? Facebook has a good dresses site that is closed to the public - you have to be invited. Message me if you'd like to be added and you can stick up the picture. I've bought two dresses through the page and I love them. One was my 30th birthday party dress...

Facebook also has a wedding sale group too. Lovely stuff on there to buy and also popular with sellers

All the bridesmaids should sell the dresses together as you'd have better chance selling them to a bridal party than individually if they are that formal ... It's a lovely idea to use the money to treat your friend.
