Is it possible to record programmes?

Apologies if this (basic) question has been asked already but I did a quick search and couldn't find an answer.

I'm based in Co Sligo and have a basic UPC tv service with no recording capabilities. Can anyone explain what I would need to be able to record some programmes from rte or tv3 as the quality of the broadband service I have doesn't make the various online players a viable option. Thanks.

Are you a UPC cable or MMDS (aerial) subscriber?

There is no pvr/recorder available for that service. You could attach a DVD recorder to record the channel you've selected on the MMDS box, not very convenient or user friendly. In any case that service is ending April 2016.

Another option for the Irish channels is a Saorview PVR/recorder with a UHF aerial - http://www.walker.ie/products/WP6500TTR-HD.html

Is that service end date confirmed, wasn't aware to be honest.

    Comreg Decision - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=83862302#post83862302

No official comment from UPC since the Comreg decision was published.

You could ask over in the UPC forum - http://www.boards.ie/ttforum/1546
