Raspberry Pi monitor

Just wondering if anyone has a good recommendation for a cheap raspberry pi monitor?

I have the HDMI cable but no HDTV, and don't really want to buy an adaptor and get no use from it, whereas if I get a small, around 7 inch screen (is that a good enough size?) then I can use it for future Pis I use

    Any suggestions?
