Hey guys, I'm new to this site. I just signed up pretty much to get some information. I would greatly appreciate any feedback.

Basically, I am 24, living in Clare and looking at applying for a course in Trinity College as a mature student. I am currently 18 months on Jobseeker's Allowance.

I can't apply unless I am certain I can support myself financially so I'm basically asking what is the best option?

Can I receive rent allowance while on Back To Education? My main worry is that I will not be able to afford the fees and rent.

    Cheers.

    Yes possibly but no guarantees

If you get the tcd course and don't get rent supplement you could also apply for the student assistance fund.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

If you are on Rent Supplement and then apply for and receive BTEA then you should be ok. It can be tougher to get RS after you claim BTEA.
