Right folks, hoping you can help. 2007 avensis. Remove light cluster. 2 diodes ( LEDs ) missing. Some gangster nipped them off the board with a pliers to disguise malfunctions. Anyway, issue sorted, so just need to get replacements. Maplins have nothing similar. Radionics are sure they would stock a suitable item, but they need voltage and rating which has me schtumped. I've swapped out 1 from the backlight cluster to the CEL, and it's handy enough. will do it with the other one if I can't source replacement.

Rang toyota service and they send them to a place in rathcoole. Rang and he wants 80quid to replace 2 LEDs

    Any advice appreciated.

Assuming they look like these ones:

They're 3528 SMDs. I've never known them to come in different voltages, once you get the same colour. I don't think Maplins do SMDs, but eBay will sort you out.

What colours do you need? Can you measure the distance between the solder pads. I'm sure i've some spare ones around your welcome too, as long as they are bright enough...

    Thanks folks,

much appreciate the assistance. Here is a snap of the board. Dougie, looks pretty similar, thanks for the info ;)

DD, very kind offer. I'll measure the pad distance and let you know.

Dougie, the ones you linked to appear to have no protruding pads on each side for easy solder attachment as per the other pics which you and I posted ?

It looks to me like they do, the solder pad is vertical on a 3528 rather than protruding:

I have some red ones there, your more than welcome to them, I'm sure i've amber some where too...

Thanks DD, I'd gladly take a few ambers off ya if you don't mind ?

And Dougie, thanks a lot for your great input :)

Yep no problem, have 4 ambers and 4 reds taped beside my computer on a post it. They are the same size as the ones you posted, the ambers have slightly narrower pads, but will solder fine.

Just check the the direction of the led before you solder it, put a meter on diode test and the led will light when forward biased. Red lead will be on the anode and black on the cathode.

Pm me your address and I'll post them on....

Once again, thanks very much DD.
