This topic has probably being discussed before but i was wondering which dairy detergent do you use for washing machine and tank and also what do you think of product you're using. Tank is hot washed after every collection (2 days) and machine is hot washed on morning that milk not collected. (one water heater, morning collection, night rate heating).
I am currently using Delaval Super costing €140 for 60 litres.
There cheaper stuff out there but low caustic levels and have found that they crystalise on me.
    Appreciate your experiences

Having sold these chemicals for a good few years there's more than price and name involved.
Your water will play a lot in what you must use. Some will definitely get away with the cheaper detergents and it may well be worth a trial. But I found that for some only the top brands would cut the mustard.

Same goes for descaler and hot washes. The water on some farms seems the facilitate far less hot washing than others, which is a great saving both on heating water and machine rubber.

So it can e worth trying the cheaper products, but not every farm gets away with using them.

You need to shop around. Don't see Delaval super on Teagasc list. Is it 1% mix if cold you use with that. Can get top product for fraction of price you are paying in 200 litre. PM if want details.
