Think I would , but it probably wouldn't make any odds to management.

Perhaps its just better to come on here and rant about it :)

Management would only have the last laugh then you would feel, i know it does feel good to tell a company what you think of it when you are leaving. Remember the saying "A big man shoots a guy a bigger man walks away".

Yes true, and thanks for the advice.

Personally I'm fairly outspoken but its not really because I'm any less of a man, I just hate injustice and unfairness, and to be honest I would like to put management in their place and tell them what I think of them.

In this case I don't think I'll give them the satisfaction of seeing me angry, sociopaths thrive on that kind of stuff.

You should have told them why you were leaving at the time you handed in your notice. Maybe you could just do it now. If they threaten or try to make life difficult for you during your notice period, you could simply up sticks and head back to Europe straight away rather than serving out your notice.

I'm tied into a housing lease and I get a fat check on the last day of my employment, besides that ,I just like to do things properly in general otherwise it could come back to haunt. Unfortunately didn't even get asked by management why i was leaving, they obviously know already which makes them even more incompotent, the idea that what they do is morally wrong but carry on doing it because the big pension awaits them.

You have nothing to gain by being honest. Leave on good terms.

I think you have hit this on the nail if I am honest with you. I have had a similar situation a few years ago. Incompetent management who either s**g their way to the top or lick eachother a***s. I thought it would be better to tell them exactly what I thought of them when they let me and other people go at Christmas 2011. Problem is they don't care. They will listen, say that they are sorry you feel that way and then laugh afterwards and call you a clown behind your back.

Personally I would keep the mouth shut, do the minimum you have to do each day, count down the days and then walk out. Also you need to think of a reference for afterwards if you need one so burning bridges may seem like a good thing at the time but later may not be too smart. By all means rant here!;)

Cheers for that, Yes you are right and sorry to hear that you lost your job, I hope you found a new and better one.

I agree about management but its annoying, even knowing that there are so many others at the behest of these greedy parasites.
On another note, I wonder what a manager is these days anyway? One manager here is specifically cowardly, incompetent, sneaky, self centered, arrogant, impatient and juvenile with very little people skills, and unqualified to boot. He only got to where he is by shafting others it seems.
I'm sure there's good qualities too but I just can't think of any at the moment ......
Oh ya, his Mrs is an absolute cracker, aha knew there was something :pac:

The reality is it will look like sour grapes from somebody who couldnt "cut it ".
You never know what the future implications are for a move like that.

Shake there hands ,thank them for the opportunity and move on.

Before starting your next job reflect honestly on the situation that arose, your part in how things turned out and what you have learned from it.

I've had lots of time to reflect and so far I think i've done what was asked of me and more. I have learned to do more research before I accept another position and have all my ducks in a row so to speak. This current job I went into a bit uninformed with the attitude of 'ah sure on paper its grand'.

I'm certainly no Perfect Peter in many respects, but I did expect management to have a shred of integrity.

Thanks for the advice, I will use it.

I think you're doing the right thing. It's unlikely that anything you say to management will have any impact on them. One thing you might want to do would be to put up a review on Glass Door so that someone else doesn't stumble into the same sh1tuation.

Any chance you could name the company? As I am currently looking for work in HK. Understandable if you do not want to name and shame!

Yes you are right, little ole me and my opinions would matter precious little. It'd be great to voice them even in a diplomatic way, but it just aint worth the energy. onwards and upwards :)

Curious as to what industry you were working in HK?

Yes. It is far better to leave quietly. You will need some form of reference from these people. Work out your notice, take your money and go.
