No train service in Donegal, but there's a 3.45pm mule service from Connelly station

The Luas stops right in the centre. Watch out for the junkies though.

You have to get a bus/ car to Letterkenny. There is no rail service to Donegal. (unless something has opened up recently and I'm mistaken).

The closest railway station to Donegal, nevermind in it, is in Derry.

Closed down the railways in Donegal years ago.

There is a train station, but only buses go there because there's no track for the trains.

    Is there electricity in Letterkenny?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I saw one in Smyth's toy shop before Christmas. Sorry, but the last train left about sixty years ago and the Dublin government doesn't spend money in Donegal.

Seriously though, there is a good private bus service from Dublin, Galway and Belfast. John McGinley from Dublin; Feda from Galway and Paddy Gallagher from Belfast.

Google 'Bus Feda'. There is a good service to and from Galway.

We'll have decent broadband before we get trains again. As someone else mentioned if you can get to Galway get the feda bus, its 1 or 2 euro more but goes to letterkenny with the only stop before donegal being in sligo.

Depending on where you are coming from in Clare you can get a regular 51/x51 bus eireann bus to galway and the 64 from Galway to Letterkenny.
