Going to see this tomorrow. Looks ok, garage seemed fairly on the ball when I phoned them earlier.

How's the spec? Would like leather but cest la vie.

Looking for something biggish and petrol with a bit of poke. Tax doesn't bother me really. Will be trading a 2006 1.8 petrol Mondeo with over 100k miles so won't be getting much on a trade in! :o

Any stories about the garage good or bad?

    Cheers lads.

    My Eyes!
Whoever was let loose of that has ruined it. Chrome arches on an A6 is a new one on me. Chrome on lights etc. Hideous.

God the state of that chrome :(

I know. I was thinking it could be a bit chav. Have only seen the pics. I don't know if I could drive something that looks too crass. Although there ain't exactly massive choice! :o

It looks a bit skanger tbh..

Mileage seems very low for a car of that age and type

The car is advertised as 2L petrol, yet the badge on the back says 3.0T... S-line badges stuck on all over it...
There's bound to be some nice examples of A6s out there without the added 'extras'

Good spot about the badge. Think I'll give it a miss.

I wouldn't touch it, the sort of people who put stick on chrome on cars are not ones to be trusted. Dod-gy!

It's a bad attempt at felting. The seller must be a part time comedian too, asking €10k for it.

A tidier example here with leather:

If you were set on dealing with that garage and going by your original post, the car I would have gone for is the Saab 9-5, saving yourself 5k
    http://www.ascars.ie/viewanad.php?ad_id=992496

High spec with sat nav, sports leather, nice wheels and decent poke. I would investigate the low mileage though . . . .

But please not that Audi, that chrome is shocking

Would I be right in saying that there have been quite a few negative posts in relation to that particular garage? A quick search would not install confidence in buying from them.

Thing that worries me there is there's a yellow warning light on the dash (looks like an engine symbol) and the fact that the straight-on pic of the dash has the car off would worry me too.

    Maybe I'm just paranoid :P

Also, basic climate, manual seats, no xenons but at least it has the full colour MMI

    That's a handbrake light.

Edit: no it's not sorry lol. Either way it's a poverty spec, the RNS E isn't a deal maker at all.

In my audi the yellow engine light stays on until you start the car.

I'm trying to remember here without going down to my own to check

Normally I just plug in, wait a few seconds while I select today's driving song and fire her up :p

Still a basic spec though but I've probably been spoiled by my own

Looks like the warning symbol is while the engine is idling, the straight on shot is smarter as the engine is off. . .

OP here, funny that you mention the 95, I was just looking at another one there.

I actually work near that AS place, and was going to check the Audi at lunchtime today (but after the comments I mightn't), however I might go and have a look at the Saab.

Someone else mentioned dodgy comments about the garage though, nothing coming up on Boards about them that I can see.

With the 95, is the Linear Sport linked above poverty spec? I hate the dash on them but for the money they seem reasonable value. Suppose, could change the cd player out at least (its hideous).

That iteration of the 9-5 is not my favourite, I had three and preferred the MY02-MY05 shape, especially the interior.

The liear sport spec was about the lowest (I think there was a Nordic or Business spec on the earlier models which was lower). The biggest difference you will notice is in the front seats. The Vector / sport seats are incredibly good, the lower spec ones are fine and comfy, but there is a big difference. The spec on the AS cars Saab is quite high including the large screen sat nav. There is also an engine difference between the two, the AS car is the 2.3T as opposed to the other which is 2.0t, also the AS car is auto, while the other is manual.

I have a soft spot for 9-5s still, favourite model would have been a late 2004 Aero Estate. . . . . only left saab cars after 10 yrs in 2011 due to company car (5series) arriving.

Looks to have the wheels slightly to the left also matching steering wheel.
