11" late 2010 macbook air

So someone I know is offering me a 11" macbook air, late 2010 model for 500. I was wondering is it worth it or should I pay the little bit extra and get a newer model? Is there that much of a performance boost? Shes 52 and only has it a year so its still in perfect condition, im in the market for a macbook for a while now…

Shes 52 and only has it a year so its still in perfect condition, im in the market for a macbook for a while now and been offered this has got me thinking about an air or a pro, and ive decided on an air. One thing thats holding me back from buying this is no backlit keyboard, at least I think it doesnt have one from reading online.
