You can try this calculator www.carculator.ie, I think another boards member wrote it.
Edit, on second thought it seems to be a comercial site

For servicing or maintenance itself, hard to say. Depends on what's needed really.

There is a excel calculator here that can help. It's not extensive by any means.

a 1.6 bm wont be heavy on fuel or motor tax, so wont be too much. getting a 4 pot serviced with an independent, about E100. E390 on Emissions v E514 on CC. So dont be fooled by paying thousands over the odds for "da cheap tax" your mate would be saving E124 per annum... I'm imagining the tyres on them will be 15 or 16", so again not much...

Some of the calculations this site make are a bit all over the place! Im guessing its main objective is to make your car looks expensive compared to whatever Renault they are peddling, but to come back and tell me that my car is going to need something like €1200 a year in servicing (not including the extra €100 that they add onto the NCT) is just nonsense! They came back with a figure of €500 to change a timing belt ffs

I got the same. I won't be dropping my car to a Renault dealer after that. €500 to replace a timing belt seems a bit steep, particularly considering my car doesn't even have a timing belt

The turbo actuator arms can get stuck and the turbo can go around 70-80k. I believe the 2006 model had Mitsubishi turbos while they were changed in early 2007 to Garret with those turbos seemingly more reliable. There are some stuff like busted boost pipes, glow plugs and a manifold issue but I've not heard of them on a big scale - anything can go wrong with any car at any times. For the most part the engine is pretty bulletproof. As has been pointed out,the cheap tax of an '08 is not worth any premium whether the premium is in money terms or in spec terms. I would aim at late 2006/early 2007 getting the best spec'd car in the best condition with the most reliable service history/warranty rather than worrying about age or mileage.

    A 316i doesn't have a turbo though. :)

Lol, same with me: 500 euro for a timing belt, on a car that's chain driven :)

Not to mention the fact it calculates depreciation, which is really silly.

One thing though, it grossly underestimates fuel consumption: 7.54l/100km I can only dream about, I mostly do city driving.

However the funniest part is that it gives me the default comparison to a Fluence 1.5dCI 90cv...which is clearly the same kid of car as an Alfa 159, sure.

But only for your current car. Apparently brand new Renaults dont depreciate a penny :pac:

It compares my Type R to a 1.5 Megane...

ehh .. its a marketing site ........ I bet you would be able to tell the difference between dairy gold and 'i can't believe it's not butter' ... even though the TV says you won't.

Lads its only comparing your cars costs to those models, its not saying they are the same type of car.

I dont actually find the figures too far off for mine.

You have to take it for what it is, a marketing tool biased towards Renault. Its by no means an independent tool.

I laughed when I saw the depreciation - when you think of how quickly your shiny new Renault is going to depreciate.....
