Do lads/lassies inseminate once or twice after removing coil

have one with coil to remove thursday and Vet says to inseminate 48 and 72 hours after removal and AI man says once at 56, be inclined to go twice myself

You do get a spread in the onset of oestrus so twice would seem to cover more 'ground'. The other way of looking at it is that you've spent a bit of more with the hormones you've used, does it make sense to try to be thrifty with the part that matters?

What could I expect to spend coiling 6 cows if AI man inserts for free and excluding straw cost? Ie coil and injection costs? Thanks

When its one cow you will know the start of bulling so am/pm rule should be ok
If you are dealing with a number of cows serve at 56hrs and serve again any cows that are showing standing heat at first AI.

I thought it was a design thing but
PRID = progesterone releasing intra-vaginal device
CIDR = controlled internal drug drevice

so a prid is a cidr but a cidr can have other drugs/hormones on them

so they basically do the same job I’m just wondering whic one gives the best results ???
