M50 Toll Query

    Hi,

I have an eFlow Tag for last couple of years.

I drove through M50 twice last weekend, and the tag didn't beep in one of the journeys. It read fine on the way back.

Should I pay for the one journey which the tag was not read.

As I mentioned, I'm using the eFlow tag for more than 2 years and never had this problem.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Ace

If you have a valid tag, I wouldn't worry about it. Chances are it was recorded, but you didn't hear the beep.

Phone the TAG issuer and ask them if the trip has been recorded / paid for.

Has happened to me a few times, it seems they use your reg number and apply the charge to your account that way.

Yeah no need to worry about phoning them I don't think. If a reg shows up as being tied to an account, they'll just charge accordingly and there shouldn't be any need to worry about fines etc. Plenty of times my tags haven't beeped at various tolls.

I have an eflow tag that has never beeped and yet every journey is recorded. So it's fine, don't worry :)

It's only the newer tags that beep.

i had an old one on my old car and it never beeped (which caused a couple of arguments with my dad when he insisted that it had to and i wasn't going to get charged anytime he was in my car when we went through it) but when i changed car and asked them for a new holder they sent me out the beeping version and got me to return the older one.
