Does the 40/50 an hour include mixing of slurry?

Agitator is usually more expensive. Very hard on diesel.

Rough calculations is just over 20,000 gals. If the contractor spreads with a 2,000 gal tanker, its 10 loads. And if its around the house, 3 hours should do it, 4 max.
    4Hours x €50 = €200

That's an awful lot left over for agitation. ... or is there something wrong with my figires?

thats not bad think it €60 and above for trailing shoe around here! €50 and above for mixing

in terms of the €600 euro i think thats steep enough
    2 hours mixing = €100
    6 hours spreading = €300 @ €50 = €400 ??

No your calculations are about right, if the tank was full to the slats iy would hold 23500 gallons I think so 12 loads.@ 3 loads an hour it works out as you say even at 2.5 loads an hour it works out at 5 hours or 250 euro.

Agitation can be a bit tricky however with a tank that size he be belting it off the back wall. Say he had to bring two lads of water you would imagine at most 3 hours at 60-7/hour.I would imagine that 450 would be the max.

Looking at it another way he get it done in a long day. Op how long was he there. I know you might not be there but was he in in before you left one morning or there after you came home

I be changing contractors either he acting the mick or else his gear is not good enough. Unless your cattle are pulling an awful lot of silage through the barriers and going into the tank it should not take that long.

I think it cost me about 700 euro to agitate and get spred about 55K gallons. The draw was near ias the yard is in the centre of a virtual square block.

Most of those contractors are still stuck in the celtic tiger era. Dumb f^7ks think they can do a half ass job and charge a fortune.
Shop about for another contractor or better still get your own rig
