Ubuntu Launcher Question

    Hi everyone,

I'm having a problem with a few of the programs not opening properly in Ubuntu 13.10.

I've got Chromium set to run during start up but it wont "expand" from the launcher when it does, it stays as a tab, this also happens when I try and run VLC.

It wasn't too much of a hassle until I installed Spotify yesterday and the same thing happened, it runs but stays as a tab and wont "open" onto the desktop.

I've clicked the bejaysis out of the icon but I can't seem to get it, any ideas?

Any help would be very gratefully received, thanks

    Joe Dunne

I should probably add that the programs in question (lets use Chromium for this example) are displaying the triangles to say that they are running and in the foreground but are still not visible.
