    Not quite true, I was able to activate it by digging around in the account settings. Works perfectly, I was able to set a profile picture and it works just like a "full" Google account on my Android phone, none of the "You must have a Google+ account to do X" anymore. I don't actually use the social features, though.

    Try logging in on your Tcd account through the Google page rather than myzone( which I never log in through). It's easier logging in through gmail.com and entering your Tcd email and password

    You can do it, but you have to mess around in the settings and try it a couple of times. I can't remember how I did it, but it's definitely possible.
