I don't know of anyone who has had rhinoplasty in Ireland. But I think you should maybe think about going to London. There are dozens of amazing doctors there and it's regulated. Cosmetic surgery is very lightly regulated in ireland and most surgeons lack expertise. If your doctor doesn't do the procedure hundreds of times a year, don't consider using them

It can be overwhelming trying to choose a surgeon. I am lucky that My surgeon came highly recommended by a trusted friend. I am one week post op. I had my septorhinoplasty done in Dublin. Personally I can't imagine having to travel home from anywhere post op with a splint/bandage on my face, it is uncomfortable and your still whoozy. From general anesthetic. My surgeon is the best in Ireland & so far I am happy with the results although I'm still very swollen.

Hi, I had a nose job in the Mater Private in the summer of 2014. I got a referral letter from my GP for a well-known surgeon she recommended. About three weeks after posting the referral letter I got a phone call from his secretary to arrange an initial appointment. I was fairly anxious, but my nose had bothered me for a long time (it had quite a prominent bump), and it was something I wanted to do. I had printed off a list of questions to ask the surgeon (I just googled them), he answered them all, and put me at my ease. He didn't show me before/after pictures or anything. He said it was significant surgery, but not risky surgery. I was especially nervous of the anaesthetic, and he said I would just have to trust the doctors, that I would be in good hands. After thinking about it for another few weeks I arranged another appointment (two appointments is good practice before an operation like this), and told him I wanted to go ahead. My operation was in mid July (initial visit was February). It cost 5000euro which I paid in full before the surgery. The morning of the operation I was nervous, especially because I had never had surgery before but the hospital staff took it all in their stride and were kind and reassuring. I had a hard cast after the operation for about three days-then the surgeon took it off in his rooms. My nose was swollen and bruised but straight. I was, and still am delighted with the result. I was able to go back to work three weeks later, and nobody noticed that anything was different! I had a follow up appointment in October which lasted about 5 minutes and I have had no issue since. Hope this is useful for somebody else! My advice is to do your homework and go to a reputable surgeon! Good luck!!!

Mr. Cliff Beirne - very nice down to earth man and excellent at what he does.

FYI if the reason for your Rhinoplasty is due to an accident VHI will most likely cover the costs
