Got married 20 months ago but it's only been brought to our attention now that I should have had my wife's tax credits, can we get this back dated or have we lost out?

Also we have tax to claim back, do we go to local tax office or is there a form to fill out??

    Thanks

Form it2. Link below will explain more. Also this question has been done to death here. Search joint assessment or married tax.
