leaving job and dole

    sorry if this is in the wrong place or posted before. basically if a person leaves a job themselves, are they entitled to any social welfare? been in job for 9 years, small time manufacturing company.

    You may be disqualified from claiming for up to 9 weeks if you leave a job voluntarily, there is a bit of discretion depending on the reason why you left the job but worst case scenario is 9 weeks.

    If you are disqualified for 9 weeks, during that time you can make a request to your local community welfare officer who may or may not agree to give you some sort of allowance to tide you over depending on your circumstances.
