I usually use DHL, 3-7days. be prepared to pay them the VAT and handling fee at your door though

If you ask the supplier in china to use EMS (this is the courier attached to china post)it usually works out about 6/7 euro per kg. Air freight, usually arrives within 14days. Is delivered via an post, quite often it also misses the customs charges too.

For small consignments it can be very cost restictave to use the mainstream carriers such as Dhl, Fedex, Ups

EMS is definitely cheapest but can take a lot longer than 14 days though too so would depend on how quickly you need the stuff. I use EMS but have had to wait over a month for things to arrive.

Thanks everyone. Problem is I am shipping a type of powder and the supplier says EMS do not permit airmailing powder. Sounds strange but not a lot I can do. Has anyone experience ordering a pickup with DHL/any other carrier? Supplier is not very cooperative from his end.

Certain stuff requires special handling and / licencing to transport. Companies like fedex/UPS do this, but charge for it. My guess is that about 50% of the charge is for the specialist handling.

Find a different supplier or see if you can get the stuff in Europe.
