Rails on ICS M4?

Hi, I want to install a rail system on my ICS M4A1 and I need a serated delta ring was wondering if whether a G&P ring would just screw on, or would I have to modify the upper receiver? I know they are meant to both be in Imperial measurements and I want to know before I go out and buy things.
