So I turn on the radio in the past few minutes to hear Rugby Coverage of an normal run of the mill rugby game which has cut short probably one of the best shows on 2fm. Seriously is the Captain of the Titanic after reincarnating or what. 2fm is in a jock... Are they covering sport broadcasting to the under 25s , over 35s or what the bloody hell are they actually doing

Highlights everything that is wrong with 2FM - JC Jukebox is one of their highest rated shows and they cut it short for a not overly important Rugby match.

Pity the listener,, the coverage of the game should be on Radio 1LW - similar to coverage of the munster game.

    What a joke!
Does the boss of 2FM not realise that its surposed to be a music station.
It would make more sense to stick it on the under utilised LW 252 transmitter.

Edit. Just seen Infoanon has said the same.

I really can't get my head around this. The one Sunday were I wasn't working. I was really enjoying listening to the show today. Great variety of tunes. John announced rather unexpectedly at 12:20 that he was cutting the show short due to a rugby game and if you wanted to continue listening to the jukebox to retune to Rte Gold. Sounds as if his links on Rte Gold were all pre-recorded and no requests. Obviously no one listening to that station.

RTE Gold has more listeners then RnaG.....

perhaps a strp too far but how about putting the Rugby game on RnaG - at least it would make listeners aware that such a network exists??

Irish radio in general is unlistenable during the afternoons at weekends. If it isn't sports talk, it's live commentary or constant score updates. This goes on right up until 7 in the evening in some cases.

An awful lot of people aren't interested in sport at all. Provide an alternative.

It would be a shame if they got rid of the Ruth and paddy show!

Now that's a great idea! An absolute waste of a station for less than 1% of the population.

No harm losing the Weekenders pair.

Nice hearing Aidan Leonard back on the radio now..also filling in for Larry next week

Agreed. Great to hear Aidan back on the wireless. Like his presentation. Very enthusiastic jock. Used to always listen to him weeknights after 10.

Are you sure ? Religious services are over by 12.30, time enough for the Rugby.

Bizzarely tonight 2FM are covering the Leinster game and not Radio1!

Even more bizzare is that neither Connachts game tomorrow or Munsters midday game on Sunday is being covered - not on RTE radio schedule at any rate

Hate the way 2fm cut Jenny Greene's show whenever they feel like, if I'm in the car I want to listen to music and not some match. Since they've started all the sports shows I'm finding myself listening less and less to 2fm.

Actually bar Damien Farrelly, Jenny Greene and the jukebox the odd time I don't listen to 2fm at all.

The Connacht game was on Newstalk, probably the same for the Munster game.

2Fm continues to go nowhere - it is a total embarrassment with no strategy. How long more before those in charge are hauled in to explain their remit, their costs, and why they should be allowed continue.
