I just read on EarthSky that there's a (very slim) chance of a meteor shower as we pass through ISON's orbit in the next few days, also a chance of Noctilucent Clouds - wonderfully detailed on Nightskyhunter.com (I'd never heard of them). Fingers crossed the clouds play ball and good luck watching.

That's an odd one, NLCs in January, never heard of that before. I wonder if that source is location (latitude) dependent i.e. meant for southern hemisphere observers?

    Seanie.
